The original home built
in 1911 was a modest three bedroom, two level, with no garage built
by the homeowner's grandfather. Great effort was taken to maintain
as much of the original home as possible during the renovation and
upgrade of the building. By "cribbing" (elevating) the
original house, enough room was created to build a tandem garage
underneath. In addition, a new story was constructed between the
first floor and the attic. The resulting three-story home over garage
is a restored period masterpiece. Original windows were reconditioned;
radiators refurbished; and hardwood floors were installed with salvaged
and recycled hardwoods in order to blend the new floor finishes
with the original ambience of the home.
